I think it would be quicker to list the things that Fred hasn’t done versus what he has done. This young horse has a very long career resume and it is a testimony to his great mind. He is approximately 14.3 with great foot and bone. Fred has been used in all aspects of ranch work including, but not limited to, gathering, doctoring, sorting, branding, starting and snubbing colts and more. He has also been exposed to flags, bullwhips and gunfire. During the disastrous fires in Colorado this summer he was used in the rugged mountains to help evacuate cattle which meant very long days in less than ideal conditions. Fred has had the opportunity to gather and drive horses on the legendary Sombrero Ranch, as well as take part in many photo shoots moving the iconic Marlboro horse herd and long horns. Part of all of these adventures included crossing water, deadfall, steep mountains, narrow trails, and everything in between. Inside of the arena, Fred has been used as a flagging horse running the jackpots, work the back pens running gates and sorting, carrying flags during the National Anthem, and turning back at the local cutting show. He has been started on both the heading side and heeling side in the team roping, lightly started on the barrel pattern, and he knows his reining maneuvers including turning around and a great stop. We have put beginners on him to learn to brand and learn to ride and rope the dummy but he also has enough pep in his step to go long days with an experienced rider. He’s easy to shoe, bathe, stand quietly, and haul. Ride him bareback, western or english. I genuinely can’t say enough great things about this young horse and I’m so excited to be able to offer him to the public.
