Bad Alambre, affectionately known as “Hombre” is one of those styles of horses that is difficult to find. Standing in at 15.3 with massive straight bone and foot, he is still able to move and travel like a smaller horse having the same athletic ability. He is Royal Crown Futurity eligible (both roping and barrel racing) as well as 5- States eligible. Added bonus, he is on track for his roping 4 year old futurity year as well as being lightly started on the barrel pattern. This young gelding has been a part of our program ever since his 2 year old year, so we have been fortunate enough to know him the majority of his life and he has always been incredibly enjoyable. Since day 1 he has always been very easy to be around, very willing to learn, laid back and no buck or funny business. He’s definitely an old soul in a young body paired with the cutest “find you in the pasture” personality. Since he has been with us for so long, he has been exposed to different aspects of ranch work including gathering, sorting, and doctoring. He has gone through water, downed timber, bridges and has covered lots of open country. Hombre is the type that you can grab from the pasture, cinch tight and lope off. In the arena, he is being started on the heading side in the team roping in hopes to be shown at the Royal Crown the beginning of February. He has been started on the barrel pattern as well, but never entered, so he is still futurity eligible. This diversity comes from being started with a cow horse handle. This young gelding has a great stop, turn around, carries himself nice and collected and has all of the body control to go any direction. To complete the package, he has the most beautiful steel gray coloring. We are excited to offer a prospect of this quality and know that whether he goes to the arena or back to the ranch, he will excel.
